Prevention Educator

The Prevention Educator role is onsite in Syracuse, NY, with compensation of $21–$23 per hour. Vera House is a human service agency working to prevent, respond to, and partner to end domestic and sexual violence and other forms of abuse. The educator plans and delivers prevention programs and presentations for youth and adults, while supporting community outreach and program evaluation. The role also helps connect people who disclose abuse with resources and contributes to the agency’s prevention and intervention services.

What you'll do

• Facilitate prevention programs for youth and adults
• develop and revise curricula and agency materials
• help maintain the chat line and hotline as needed
• build relationships with community partners
• collect and report program outcome data
• maintain the agency database
• provide resources to people disclosing abuse
• represent the agency at community events
• respond to client needs and support other department projects as needed.
