Project Manager – Commercial Construction (Hickory) is an onsite role in Hickory, NC; The role leads three or more commercial construction projects at a time, with individual project values stated as $10 million to $50 million. J.M. Cope is a commercial construction and program management firm serving healthcare, industrial, institutional, municipal, office, retail, and worship markets. The Project Manager oversees projects from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating clients, design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and field staff to support timely, budget-conscious delivery with attention to quality and safety. The role also manages project plans, schedules, costs, compliance, risk, and closeout documentation.

What you'll do

  • Lead multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • develop project plans covering scope, schedule, financials, procurement, quality, and risk
  • serve as primary contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
  • lead project meetings
  • coordinate design and engineering
  • support business development
  • supervise Assistant Project Managers and collaborate with Project Superintendents
  • conduct site visits
  • resolve field issues
  • track costs, purchase orders, payments, schedules, and materials
  • promote safety and OSHA compliance
  • manage risks and contractual documentation
  • coordinate punch lists, manuals, warranties, change orders, and closeout.
