The Teacher I, Head Start position is onsite in Fresno, CA, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Compensation is $23.02 per hour. The role supports Fresno EOC’s Head Start program and its educational development and school-readiness mission for children. The teacher assesses children’s development and plans individualized learning experiences that support social, emotional, cognitive, and cultural growth. The role also works with families, supports children with disabilities, and supervises assigned teacher assistants to maintain a safe, engaging classroom.

What you'll do

• Assess children’s development and prepare individualized plans
• confer with parents three times during the year
• support children’s IEP or SSP goals
• maintain a safe and stimulating classroom
• supervise, evaluate, and train assigned teacher assistants
• post weekly activity plans
• conduct required home visits
• maintain records and reports
• assist with meals and snacks
• participate in IEP processes, meetings, and training
• promote family engagement and maintain confidentiality.

Why this role

Requires an associate degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field with at least 24 CD/ECE units, two adult-supervision units, and 12 working months of preschool teaching experience. Transcripts must be uploaded to be considered.
