The Rikert Trail and Surface Operations Lead role is onsite in Middlebury village, VT, with a minimum starting rate of $25.20 per hour. This is a full-time seasonal position working 40 hours per week during peak season, expected November through March, supporting Middlebury College’s Rikert operations. The lead assists the Rikert Manager with grooming, snowmaking, trail maintenance, planning, and staffing. The role oversees surface operations and helps prepare safe trails and courses while coordinating with ski patrol, teams, clubs, coaches, race officials, and volunteers.

What you'll do

• Assist with in-season Rikert operations, snowmaking, grooming, and staff scheduling and training
• lead grooming and snowmaking, including system startup and shutdown
• oversee equipment needs and maintenance
• oversee snowmaking water usage
• perform trail maintenance, snow removal, construction projects, mowing, and cleanup as needed
• provide information for trail reports and support safe-skiing strategies
• coordinate with coaches, race officials, and volunteers to prepare surfaces and courses
• assist in other operational areas as needed.
