Apprentice Technician, Loading Dock and Commercial Door

The Apprentice Technician role is field-based, reporting daily to a local shop in the Cleveland, OH, or Pittsburgh, PA, area; the posting describes the Pittsburgh area as the Northwest Suburbs. Pay is $18–$22 per hour based on experience, plus a signing bonus. The employer installs and services loading dock equipment and commercial and industrial doors. Working alongside a lead technician, the apprentice learns to install, service, and troubleshoot doors and dock equipment at customer sites. The role combines service calls, new installations, and some planned maintenance, with manufacturer training and a path toward experienced and lead technician work. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 a.m. and ending around 3:00 p.m.; employees are home nightly with no overnight travel.

What you'll do

• Install and service commercial and industrial doors and loading dock equipment
• troubleshoot equipment with a lead technician, including electrical controls and HMI panels
• perform service calls, new installations, and some planned maintenance
• report to the shop each morning and travel to customer sites in a company vehicle
• participate in manufacturer training and lift certifications.
