Precision Tooling & Die Fabrication Specialist — Second Shift

The Precision Tooling & Die Fabrication Specialist works onsite in Saginaw, MI, Monday–Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Compensation is $34.73 per hour. The role partners with skilled trades and production teams at Amsted Automotive. The specialist builds, maintains, and repairs production tooling and dies, using prints, machine tools, and precision gauges to meet manufacturing requirements. Testing and troubleshooting dies and documenting repairs help production run accurately and safely.

What you'll do

• Translate blueprints into tooling and verify dimensions
• set up and operate toolroom machinery
• select materials, cutters, and fixturing
• sharpen and maintain tools
• run and debug test dies
• correct dies to print and process requirements
• use hand tools and perform heat treating or welding as needed
• follow lockout procedures and use PPE
• maintain an orderly work area
• complete tool logs and condition reports
• collaborate with skilled trades and production teams.
