Job overview

The Childcare Teacher role is onsite in North Charleston, SC. Pay is $12–$15 per hour. The teacher supports classroom operations at Nia Infant Toddler and Child Development Center. The teacher coordinates curriculum and classroom activities to support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. The role contributes to a safe, stimulating learning environment through age-appropriate instruction, family communication, supervision of classroom assistants, and compliance with center policies and state regulations.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate and implement curriculum and developmentally appropriate classroom activities
  • model and coach the teaching team
  • plan individual and group activities that support children’s social, cognitive, and emotional growth
  • communicate with parents through discussions, progress reports, and conferences
  • follow center policies and state regulations
  • maintain classroom hygiene, safety, and security
  • supervise teacher assistants and volunteers
  • maintain records and files
  • maintain a professional development plan.

Why this role

A minimum of three months of professional childcare experience and infant/child CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
