The Electrical Engineer — Actuation Systems role is onsite in Mooresville, NC. Compensation is not specified. The position supports Corvid Technologies’ development of technology for aerospace, defense, and commercial customers. The engineer leads the design, integration, and verification of electromechanical actuation systems for guided-rocket and missile control surfaces. The work spans actuator electronics, drive and power systems, requirements, control integration, safety analysis, testing, and qualification to support reliable, safety-critical flight systems.

What you'll do

• Design electrical and electromechanical actuation components, including drive electronics, position-feedback sensors, power-distribution networks, and thermal batteries
• translate vehicle requirements into subsystem specifications
• integrate closed-loop servo algorithms, current and torque loops, and fault-detection logic
• conduct safety and reliability analyses, including DFMEA
• support bench, environmental, integrated bench, and hardware-in-the-loop testing
• support hardware qualification and acceptance against aerospace standards.

Why this role

Requires U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree, and at least three years of relevant experience. Tools and technologies include MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE, Altium or SolidWorks Electrical, CAN, RS-422/485, and Ethernet.
