Client Engagement Counselor, Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist, SUD

The Client Engagement Counselor role is in person in Los Angeles, CA, with hourly compensation of $23–$25. Using lived experience in substance use recovery, the counselor supports client engagement, self-determination, and sustained recovery. The role provides peer services, recovery coaching, resource linkage, and follow-up while coordinating with the clinical team and documenting services to program standards.

What you'll do

• Maintain regular peer engagement sessions and provide crisis support and recovery coaching when needed
• provide individual and group peer support
• support recovery skills, self-advocacy, relapse prevention, and community resource linkage
• oversee the mentorship program with relevant departments
• conduct follow-up surveys
• complete required documentation
• communicate with staff about client treatment and engagement.
