Pest Control Field Scout

The Pest Control Field Scout role is onsite in Visalia, CA. Pay is $20.86 per hour. Wonderful Citrus is an integrated grower, shipper, and packer of fresh citrus, and the role supports crop health and field decision-making. The scout monitors citrus fields for pests, disease, weeds, and plant-health conditions, collecting and reporting data for the Pest Control Advisor. Timely observations and sampling help inform integrated pest management and crop-performance decisions.

What you'll do

• Visit fields to assess pest and disease presence and plant health
• collect data on weeds, insects, disease symptoms, and environmental conditions
• place, collect, and count traps
• record findings using forms, apps, or software
• assist with integrated pest management
• report observations to the Pest Control Advisor
• release biological control organisms where warranted
• collect soil and tissue samples
• follow supervisor directions and safety procedures.
