Overflow Housing Advocate — Evening Shifts

The Overflow Housing Advocate role is onsite at St. Vincent de Paul in Salt Lake City, Utah, with shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Compensation is $16.80 per hour. The Road Home’s mission is to help people experiencing homelessness return to the community through shelter, supportive services, and housing-focused assistance.

What you'll do

• Provide respectful, trauma-informed service
• explain and uphold shelter guidelines
• help maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility
• assist with dorm cleaning and guest belongings
• answer phones and respond to public inquiries
• document incidents, stays, and bed management
• and participate in required training and safety activities.

Why this role

Seasonal position with full-time and part-time options. The two listed schedules are Wednesday–Sunday or Thursday–Monday; a high school diploma or GED is preferred. Advocates receive training in de-escalation, crisis support, and collaboration with emergency services.
