The Registered Nurse, Behavioral Health role is onsite in Alexandria, MN, with full-time shifts available from 7 a.m.–3 p.m. and 3 p.m.–11 p.m.; compensation is not specified. Thrive Behavioral Network’s Intensive Residential Treatment Services program provides the setting for this clinical and direct-care work. The nurse oversees clients’ medical care and medication procedures, assesses and monitors health, coordinates referrals, and responds to medical emergencies. The role also supports safe medication practices by training and observing staff, educating clients and staff, and maintaining communication with program leadership.

What you'll do

• Assess clients at intake and monitor health
• coordinate referrals to community psychiatric providers and annual physical exams
• address co-occurring substance use needs and medical emergencies
• oversee medication handling and administration
• develop medication documentation procedures
• train and assess staff
• educate clients and staff about medications
• order and supervise destruction of medications
• communicate significant events and needs to program leadership
• attend weekly team meetings.
