Job overview

The Physician works onsite at the Oconaluftee Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center in Cherokee, NC, 1–2 days per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Compensation is not specified. The role provides medical services to Job Corps students ages 16–24. The physician identifies, treats, and helps prevent health issues while promoting student wellness. The role also supports medical planning and coordination, supervises advanced practice clinicians as permitted by state law, and maintains accurate student health records in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.

What you'll do

• Conduct intake and ongoing physical examinations
• diagnose and treat students
• develop treatment plans and chronic-care strategies
• prescribe medications
• supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in compliance with state law
• maintain Student Health Records
• provide first aid, CPR, and care for minor illnesses and injuries
• and collaborate with center counselors on medication management.
