LRE Aide – Special Education

Job overview

The LRE Aide role is onsite in Detroit, MI. Compensation is not specified. The aide is assigned to a school building and works under the direction of a team of general and special education professionals and the building administrator. The role supports students with disabilities in regular education classrooms or community-based settings when additional assistance is identified by the individual educational planning team. It helps students access classroom activities, build independence, and interact with peers while supporting teachers’ daily lessons and behavior strategies.

What you'll do

• Assist eligible students with disabilities in regular education or community-based settings as identified by the planning team
• implement accommodations and modifications based on student IEPs
• promote social acceptance and interaction with general education peers
• support independence in learning, assignments, and peer interactions
• assist teachers with daily lessons
• implement behavior intervention strategies
• maintain logs of support provided when not directly supervised by a special education teacher.
