What you'll do

• Collect blood and blood cultures using appropriate venipuncture techniques
• collect urine specimens and perform glucose tolerance testing
• verify patient identity using two approved identifiers
• label and transport specimens
• ensure adequate sample volume
• perform specimen accessioning and processing tasks as assigned
• clarify orders and communicate test information to authorized personnel
• document collections and rejected specimens
• follow HIPAA, OSHA, and medical center safety requirements.
