The Designer/Analyst I — Spaceflight Engineering role is onsite at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM; compensation is $70,975–$83,227 per year. The position is for a potential upcoming contract supporting the Air Force Research Laboratory SSHINE contract. Vantage Systems provides multidisciplinary engineering services for NASA and Department of Defense spaceflight projects. At entry level, the designer/analyst supports analysis, testing, modeling, and engineering documentation for space technology and flight experiments. The work contributes to design, demonstration, validation, and implementation activities supporting government spaceflight missions.

What you'll do

• Perform analyses and evaluations through experimental testing, modeling and simulation, and engineering analysis
• support space technology and flight experiment requirements, design, and interface control documentation
• assist with trade studies, demonstrations, and analyses
• support design and fabrication of ground-based proofs of concept and experiments
• travel to government and contractor locations for reviews and meetings
• draft and review design documentation, participate in reviews, and conduct reliability and performance assessments
• support hardware, software, firmware, laboratory validation, and re-engineering activities.
