Veterinary Assistant - Surgery. This is an onsite position in Middletown, CT, with a pay range of $19.50 - $22.50 per hour. Pieper Veterinary is a VECCS Level I Facility committed to delivering exceptional patient care. This role exists to provide essential support to the Surgery Team, assisting with pre- and post-operative care and playing a vital role in improving the quality of life for patients.

What you'll do

• Assist with pre- and post-operative care
• Assist with handling/restraint, basic surgical prep
• Cleaning, stocking, taking TPRs, restraining patients for exams and appointments, assisting with admissions and discharges.

What we're looking for

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Experience

Prior experience working in a veterinary setting. Experience in handling animals and performing basic animal care tasks. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task and remain organized. Compassion and patience. Basic knowledge of animal behavior and medical terminology. Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to work collaboratively. Willingness to take direction. Strong attention to detail. Punctuality and reliability. Positive attitude, professionalism. Willingness to continue learning. Must be 18 years or older.
