Principal Identity and Access Management Engineer — Hybrid, New York City

The Principal Identity and Access Management Engineer role is hybrid, with at least three days per week in Lantern’s New York City office. The stated base salary range is $175,000 to $225,000 annually, with an annual bonus eligible separately. Lantern connects people with specialty care and supports members through dedicated care teams. Reporting to the CISO, this hands-on technical authority owns the identity control plane and sets standards, automation, and verification for access to protected health information. The role builds identity lifecycle and access controls, governs directories and federation, and partners with platform, cloud, service delivery, and governance teams to strengthen security while enabling business operations.

What you'll do

• Own identity lifecycle provisioning and deprovisioning
• manage access controls including Conditional Access, phishing-resistant MFA, and privileged access
• own directory and federation across Entra ID, SSO, SAML, OIDC, and OAuth2
• govern secrets and non-human identities
• oversee key access governance and separation of duties
• build identity-as-code and policy-as-code automation
• set identity verification standards for service desk resets and device enrollment.
