The Railcar Repair Technician role is onsite in Wilmington, NC, with pay of $21.58 to $34 per hour. Compass Rail Services provides railcar repair and transloading services for the rail transportation industry.

What you'll do

• Inspect freight railcars for defects, damage, or wear
• perform minor running repairs, including brake shoe replacement, rigging adjustments, safety appliance repairs, and gasket or fitting replacement
• document defects and repairs under FRA and AAR rules
• operate repair tools and equipment
• coordinate with yardmasters, dispatchers, and railroad personnel
• maintain a safe, organized work area and follow PPE and Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Why this role

May require up to three weeks of offsite training in Hamlet, NC. High school diploma or GED is required; prior railcar repair or inspection experience is preferred. CDL is preferred or may be obtained if applicable.
