System Designer and Estimator — Rigging

The designer translates customer requirements and request-for-proposal documents into functional proposals, bills of materials, quotes, and narratives. The work helps ensure proposed systems meet client needs and budgets and can be clearly implemented by engineering, operations, and installation teams.

What you'll do

• Review functional requirements and site survey information
• interpret RFP documents and prepare informed RFI responses and proposals
• collaborate with sales to identify solutions that meet client needs and budgets
• author bills of materials, quotes, and functional narratives
• organize documentation for clients and engineering and operations teams
• use DaVinci System Designer to verify hardware selections
• attend design and project kickoff meetings
• review drawing packages for accuracy and design intent
• author change orders as needed
• respond to operations technical questions
• maintain knowledge of technologies and vendor relationships
• assist with technical standards, processes, and continuing education.

Why this role

Requires extensive performance rigging and scenic systems knowledge, including five years of design, installation, technical theatrical, or touring/production experience; AutoCAD and/or Revit proficiency and construction documentation knowledge are required. ETCP Theatre Rigger and ETC Rigging Authorized Service Provider certifications are preferred.
