Licensed Veterinary Technician — Shelter Medicine

The Licensed Veterinary Technician — Shelter Medicine role is onsite in Atlanta, GA. Compensation is $25–$28 per hour. LifeLine Animal Project’s work centers on the care and welfare of pets and the people who love them, including lifesaving shelter care. The technician supports patient care, surgical preparation and recovery, diagnostic procedures, and general animal health. The role also maintains medical records and controlled-substance logs, assists veterinarians, and communicates care instructions to clients.

What you'll do

• Gather medical histories
• assist veterinarians with exams and procedures
• collect samples
• administer vaccinations and medications under veterinary supervision
• prepare animals and spaces for surgery and recovery
• perform routine diagnostic testing and IV catheterization
• maintain medical records and controlled-substance logs
• clean instruments and prepare surgical packs.
