The Armed Security Guard position is on-site in Bakersfield, California, with eight-hour shifts available from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Compensation is not specified. The guard protects railroad and intermodal property by enforcing safety policies, inspecting trains and containers, patrolling designated areas, and identifying potential security issues. The role supports theft deterrence and escalates problems to railroad police or emergency personnel when needed.

What you'll do

• Enforce railroad safety policies
• assist railroad police when problems arise
• deter and detect container burglaries
• inspect containers, trailers, and trains for seal exceptions, open doors, or trespassers
• identify non-employees and private vehicles on the intermodal ramp and right of way
• deter theft
• inspect high-value shipments
• patrol fences and lots
• escort and inspect inbound trains
• request emergency personnel for high-risk situations.
