The Registered Nurse (RN) — Emergency Department role is onsite in Chicago, IL, with 7 a.m.–7 p.m. or 7 p.m.–7 a.m. schedules stated in the posting. Pay is $37.86–$54.00 per hour. Community First Medical Center is a safety-net hospital serving a variety of patient needs. The nurse provides comprehensive, individualized care within the scope of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act. The role assesses patients, develops and adjusts care plans, evaluates interventions, documents care, and educates patients and families to support appropriate outcomes.

What you'll do

• Assess patients’ biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, cultural, self-care, educational, and discharge-planning needs
• use empathy, active listening, and cultural sensitivity
• develop and prioritize outcome-directed plans of care and revise them as needed
• provide clinical and technical care within established standards and scope of practice
• evaluate nursing interventions
• consult with physicians and other providers to adjust care plans
• document care
• educate patients and families.
