Packaging Engineer II

Job overview

The Packaging Engineer II role is 100% onsite in Lafayette, CO, with compensation of $50–$55 per hour. The role supports packaging solutions for medical surgical products and works with manufacturing, Project Engineering, and R&D. The position exists to validate packaging changes, improve packaging systems, and identify cost reductions while supporting project schedules. It contributes to efficient, sustainable packaging and reliable manufacturing documentation and processes.

What you'll do

• Lead cost-reduction projects, procurement of packaging machinery, and packaging documentation
• perform validation testing and material qualifications
• create and update packaging specifications and assist with artwork revisions
• operate testing apparatus and create sterilization and non-sterile pallet patterns
• support Project Engineering and R&D schedules
• prepare monthly progress reports
• provide work direction to lab technicians as required
• assist in mentoring junior engineers
• support other departments with packaging issues.
