What you'll do

• Assess patients’ and significant others’ understanding of disease processes and surgical intervention
• provide perioperative teaching
• manage perioperative nursing interventions
• assess patients before surgery and prepare the operating room
• ensure supplies and equipment are available and functioning
• provide age-appropriate care and safe medication administration
• position patients safely
• perform surgical preparation
• handle and document specimens
• maintain emergency supplies and clean, stocked surgical suites
• participate in medical-records QAPI and quality improvement.
