The Heavy Equipment Operator role is onsite in Cuyahoga Heights, OH, on a 6 a.m.–6 p.m. day-shift schedule. Pay is $25 per hour with experience. SMS Mill Services provides mill services and operates on Charter Steel mill property. The operator moves scrap material around the scrap yard for processing using equipment such as loaders, drop-ball cranes, excavators, and dump trucks. The role also includes equipment inspections and maintenance, yard cleanliness, and coordination with coworkers to maintain safe operations.

What you'll do

• Operate heavy equipment including loaders, drop-ball cranes, excavators, and dump trucks
• move scrap material around the yard
• keep the yard clean
• avoid hazards and obstructions
• perform daily inspections, safety checks, preventive maintenance, and repairs
• report equipment deficiencies
• cross-train and assist other employees
• perform general labor duties as needed.
