The Accounting Supervisor works on a hybrid schedule in San Diego, CA, with three days in the office and up to two remote days. The posting states compensation of $37.98–$40.56 per hour and a Monday–Friday schedule of 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings or weekends possible. Kitchens for Good uses culinary arts apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs to support people facing trauma and barriers to employment. The supervisor manages day-to-day accounting across grant and revenue billing, accounts payable, and monthly close. Working with the CFO, outsourced accounting firm, program staff, auditors, and funders, the role strengthens financial documentation, compliance, and processes, including through AI-assisted tools and automation.

What you'll do

  • Prepare grant and contract invoices
  • maintain billing and compliance calendars
  • track spending against award budgets
  • assemble funder documentation
  • oversee accounts payable and payment runs
  • complete reconciliations and journal entries
  • maintain balance-sheet schedules and workpapers
  • prepare draft financials
  • support annual and federal compliance audits
  • use and improve AI-assisted workflows and Excel automations
  • maintain desk procedures
  • coordinate with the outsourced accounting firm and internal teams.
