Activity Assistant

Job overview

The Activity Assistant role is onsite in Oakland, MD, at $15–$20 per hour. Dennett Rehab Center’s care team supports residents through activities that promote socialization, engagement, and well-being. The assistant creates and facilitates group and one-on-one activities tailored to residents’ interests and needs. The role contributes to resident connection and care planning by welcoming new residents, observing participation, and sharing relevant changes with the team.

What you'll do

• Facilitate group and one-on-one activities under the Life Enrichment Director
• learn residents’ interests and preferences
• welcome new residents and help them join the community
• monitor and document participation, behavior changes, and engagement
• share observations to inform care plans
• coordinate community volunteers
• follow infection control, safety, and privacy protocols
• assist with resident requests and report concerns or equipment issues.
