Sterile Processing Technician

The Sterile Processing Technician role is in person in Biloxi, MS, with compensation of $18–$20 per hour. Popps Ferry Out-Patient Surgery is a certified ambulatory surgery center with two operating rooms that specializes in ophthalmologic surgery. The technician prepares instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures and supports infection control and patient safety. The role also assists the operating-room team with terminal cleaning and preparation for the next patient.

What you'll do

• Handle and sterilize instruments, supplies, and equipment
• maintain sterile processing standards and the sterilization room
• clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
• assist with terminal cleaning of the operating room and preparation for the next patient
• follow infection-control protocols
• perform basic life support procedures and provide care to patients in an operating-room setting.

Why this role

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with an accepted sterile-processing certification, practical nursing program graduation, or evidence of extensive on-the-job training or a relevant healthcare credential. BLS is required at hire; one year of experience is preferred but not required.
