The Stage Hand / Stage Crew Member works onsite in New Bedford, MA, at The Zeiterion and earns a base rate of $21 per hour; higher rates apply only to approved specialist or lead shifts. The Zeiterion is a nonprofit stewarding its historic theater as a gathering place for performing arts, learning, connection, and creative expression. The role supports the safe setup, operation, and breakdown of live productions and events. Stagehands coordinate with production staff and touring crews, maintain production spaces, and may participate in supervised shadowing and learning across departments.

What you'll do

• Assist with production setup, rehearsals, performances, strikes, load-ins, and load-outs
• assemble, move, and break down staging, scenic, lighting, audio, video, rigging, and related equipment
• support backstage operations and stage transitions
• follow direction from production management and department leads
• maintain organized and safe work areas
• report equipment or safety concerns
• follow venue safety procedures and use PPE when required.
