Direct Support Professional — Residential

The Direct Support Professional role is onsite in Hutchinson, KS, in residential settings. Pay is $16–$19.25 per hour. The position supports people served by the Training and Evaluation Center of Hutchinson. Under a Team Leader or Manager, the professional provides personal care, training, supervision, and assessment according to Person-Centered Support Plans and agency policies. The work supports each person’s dignity, respect, choice, opportunity, and participation in the community.

What you'll do

• Provide care and report progress as required by the Person-Centered Support Plan
• assist with feeding, restroom needs, dressing, medication administration, and first aid
• support meal planning, food purchases, and preparation
• help maintain safe and healthy living environments and monitor housekeeping
• transport clients or help arrange public transportation
• support social and communication skills and community integration
• communicate across departments
• participate in each client’s support-plan team. Requires a high school diploma, GED, or Bronze Level WORKready Certification and a current valid driver’s license
• one year of IDD experience is preferred.
