Sports Instructor

The Sports Instructor role is onsite in Seekonk, MA. Pay is $15–$20 per hour. The instructor provides sports classes in accordance with Greater Providence YMCA standards. The role delivers enjoyable, progressive instruction and helps participants build skills in a safe, welcoming program environment. It also supports participant and parent communication, equipment setup, and the YMCA’s character-development values.

What you'll do

• Provide enjoyable, high-quality class instruction
• demonstrate and teach progressive skills in line with YMCA program standards
• set up and break down equipment
• outline program goals
• arrange coverage for absences and notify the Program Director
• encourage participants
• promote awareness of YMCA services
• maintain program-area safety, provide rescue or first aid when necessary, and report incidents
• communicate with participants and parents
• attend staff meetings and events
• pursue professional development and required training.
