Environmental Health Specialist

What you'll do

• Inspect pools, camps, traveler accommodations, RV parks, food service establishments, care facilities, schools, water systems, and related services for compliance
• instruct food handlers on proper procedures
• investigate complaints and disease outbreaks involving food, water, animals, vectors, sewage, and communicable diseases
• review plans for proposed establishments and facilities
• review meteorological data for air-quality advisories
• maintain inspection records and prepare reports
• attend required training
• communicate with clients and the public
• participate in public-health emergency preparedness as needed.
