Functional Safety Manager

The Functional Safety Manager role is onsite in Detroit, MI. Base compensation ranges from $150,000 to $200,000 per year, based on experience and location. The role supports FORT Robotics’ products, including wireless emergency-stop and safe remote-control solutions designed to help protect people, data, and machines. This manager owns the standards, regulatory requirements, and safety lifecycle evidence for certified subsystems used in customer machines. The role maintains the safety case and certification relationships, evaluates evidence at lifecycle gates, and incorporates field findings and regulatory changes into product safety work.

What you'll do

• Own applicable product and market standards and determine required evidence
• manage the safety plan, lifecycle phases, gate criteria, competence records, and safety case
• assess evidence adequacy and independence
• author safety manuals and subsystem data packs
• manage certification-body relationships and represent safety arguments to assessors
• monitor regulatory and standards changes
• analyze field modifications and safety anomalies and feed findings into the safety argument.
