Mechanical and Plumbing Inspector (MEP)

The Mechanical and Plumbing Inspector role is hybrid in Arlington, VA. Compensation is $60–$65 per hour on W-2. The inspector supports a project for a leading engineering and construction client. The role verifies that mechanical building systems meet project specifications, contract documents, codes, and industry standards during construction and commissioning. Through field inspections, testing documentation, submittal review, and deficiency tracking, the inspector supports quality, safety, and project closeout.

What you'll do

• Inspect HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection installations
• monitor installation, testing, commissioning, and startup
• review contractor submittals and shop drawings
• document deficiencies and corrective actions
• witness and record pressure, leak, and functional tests
• verify materials and workmanship
• conduct labor interviews for worker classification and wage compliance
• maintain inspection reports and logs
• support punch lists, closeout, and final inspections
• report safety concerns.
