The School-Aged Childcare Assistant role is onsite in Auburn, NY. Compensation is $17–$18 per hour. The assistant supports the Auburn YMCA’s before- and after-school enrichment programs for children ages 5–12. The role helps plan and lead daily activities, supervise children, and maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging program environment. It contributes to children’s positive growth experiences through age-appropriate activities, homework support, family communication, and adherence to program guidelines.

What you'll do

• Assist with planning, organizing, and leading daily SACC activities
• participate in activities and supervise children
• follow YMCA and New York State Office of Children and Family Services guidelines
• support positive behavior management
• provide homework help and nutritious snacks as appropriate
• maintain relationships with staff, parents, and participants
• keep daily records and safety-check records
• attend meetings and training
• support other YMCA programs as needed.
