What you'll do

• Assist physicians with patient care and minor procedures
• answer phones, schedule appointments, and handle patient charts
• escort patients to exam rooms and prepare rooms
• collect patient histories, blood pressure, and vital signs
• sterilize and prepare instruments
• call in prescription refills at a physician’s request
• order and maintain exam-room supplies and instruments
• follow up on laboratory work and X-rays
• administer injections.
