Job overview

The Network Administrator role is primarily onsite in Essex Junction, VT, with remote work possible on some days under the Town’s remote work policy. The salary range is $62,000–$72,000 per year. The role supports the Town of Essex Information Technology team and its systems across six Town sites. The administrator maintains and troubleshoots the Town’s computer, server, network, phone and desktop environment so employees can carry out municipal work. The role also provides end-user assistance and training and supports continuity and disaster recovery planning.

What you'll do

• Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot Town hardware, software and peripherals
• build and test customized configurations
• support network protocols and operating systems
• assist with business continuity and disaster recovery plans
• collaborate with IT colleagues
• train and support end users
• and resolve technical problems. Regular hours are 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, though hours may vary with municipal needs.
