General Manager, School Transportation Operations

Job overview

The General Manager, School Transportation Operations role is based in the Elizabeth, PA or Pittsburgh, PA surrounding area, with the service area to be determined. Reporting to the VP of Operations, the general manager leads operations and terminal managers across regional facilities. The role supports safe, reliable, on-time student transportation while overseeing customer service, financial performance, staffing, compliance, and operational improvement.

What you'll do

• Oversee day-to-day facility operations and evaluate direct reports
• oversee payroll, receivables, payables, and month-end requirements
• maintain customer relationships and attend school board meetings as required
• support routing, scheduling, and labor efficiency
• manage financial reports and plans
• develop non-school-day business
• support driver recruitment, new business, contract renewals, and location startups
• enforce policies and regulations
• coordinate safety, training, and preventive maintenance.
