The Food Service Worker role is onsite in Suffolk, VA. Compensation is $14–$16.50 per hour. The position supports Joyful Care Children’s Academy by preparing and serving meals and snacks in a childcare setting. The worker helps provide a safe, healthy food environment for children by planning and preparing nutritious meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, tracking supplies and spending, and supporting meal service. The role may also transport children in the center vehicle as necessary.

What you'll do

• Maintain kitchen equipment and work areas
• deliver food to children
• prepare and cook food according to menus and dietary restrictions
• wash and sanitize dishes and equipment
• track food usage and expenditures
• direct assistants as needed
• prepare baked goods
• operate an InstaPot and Air Fryer
• check inventory
• monitor menus and spending
• plan varied, nutritionally balanced menus
• transport children in the center vehicle as necessary.
