Material Handler — Day Shift

The Material Handler role is an onsite position in Petersburg, VA, with a 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. schedule. Compensation is not specified. Sharps Medical Waste Services supports hospitals and healthcare professionals through medical waste services. The handler supports daily waste processing by moving and cleaning materials, recording processing information, and maintaining orderly work areas. Safe, accurate handling helps the plant sustain its core operations.

What you'll do

• Load and unload autoclave carts and box waste
• move carts through tipping and cart-washing equipment
• clean containers and equipment with pressure-washing tools
• inspect carts and containers
• weigh box waste and record processing information
• bale cardboard and assist with trailer loading
• maintain clean, organized work areas
• follow safety procedures
• track daily processing and production volumes
• assist with process improvements and special projects as needed.
