The Drill Lead role is onsite in Duluth, MN. Compensation is $32 to $40 per hour. The position supports American Engineering Testing’s geotechnical drilling work, contributing to engineering and consulting projects through safe, quality field operations. The Drill Lead coordinates daily drilling operations and provides technical direction to drilling staff so project work follows plans, schedules, safety protocols, quality requirements, and applicable regulations. The role also coordinates with project managers, engineers, and clients and documents field progress and issues.

What you'll do

• Lead and coordinate daily onsite drilling operations
• direct Drill Operators and Drill Assistants
• ensure work follows project plans, schedules, and safety protocols
• supervise setup, calibration, and operation of drilling equipment
• conduct quality checks on drilling, sample collection, and field documentation
• oversee boring-location, elevation, and geologic-observation records
• maintain safety and regulatory compliance
• coordinate materials and supplies with project and engineering teams
• oversee routine equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs
• prepare field logs and reports
• mentor team members.
