The Technical Lead / Solution Architect, Application Modernization role is hybrid, with onsite work at the client location in Rockville, MD three days per week. The salary range is $170,000–$180,000 annually. A-TEK supports federal clients with application development, digital transformation, enterprise IT, and scientific services; this role supports an NIH customer and NIGMS applications. The lead turns an approved modernization plan into technical designs, coordinated releases, and reliable operations while maintaining production systems. The work guides migration from legacy .NET and Oracle components toward React, Python, and PostgreSQL, coordinating with government stakeholders and technical teams to deliver secure, maintainable applications.

What you'll do

• Lead technical design and implementation for applications, APIs, and integrations
• guide React and TypeScript front ends, Python and FastAPI services, and PostgreSQL capabilities
• plan phased migration from .NET and Oracle
• establish standards for reviews, testing, accessibility, security, documentation, and handoff
• coordinate dependencies
• support production issue resolution
• review architecture and release evidence
• validate business rules with users
• evaluate approved automation for draft documentation with qualified staff review.
