Infection Prevention Licensed Vocational Nurse

Job overview

The Infection Prevention Licensed Vocational Nurse role is onsite in Oroville, CA; compensation is $50 per hour. The role provides nursing care in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, facility policies, and applicable guidelines. The nurse supports resident and staff safety by coordinating infection prevention practices, surveillance, records, and training. The role also provides nursing care within scope and helps the facility maintain compliance with infection-control policies and its Antibiotic Stewardship Program.

What you'll do

• Maintain staff and resident line listings and vaccination records
• prepare monthly surveillance reports
• promote safe infection-prevention practices
• ensure annual N95 fit testing is completed
• participate in meetings, in-services, admission reviews, and coordination of orders and diagnostics
• coordinate compliance with the Antibiotic Stewardship Program and infection-control policies
• collaborate on room assignments to reduce pathogen transmission
• conduct surveillance and investigations using epidemiologic principles
• follow charting and incident-reporting procedures
• document patient condition changes and relevant room changes, leave of absence, admissions, and discharges.

Why this role

Infection Control Certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Requires a current LVN/LPN license in the practicing state and current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to acquire it.
