Cost Accountant

The Cost Accountant role is onsite in Utica, NY, with a stated salary range of $50,000–$70,000 per year. The position supports FX Matt Brewery’s brewing operations through cost control, excise tax compliance, and financial reporting. The role provides operational financial insight to help production and leadership manage costs and make informed decisions. It handles product costing and monthly cost-of-goods-sold close activities, tax filings and records, budgeting and forecasting, and contract product pricing.

What you'll do

• Develop and distribute cost-control KPI reports and dashboards
• review production cost variances and maintain bill-of-material accuracy
• calculate product costs by brand and SKU and manage monthly COGS close
• analyze line performance for cost reductions
• prepare federal TTB and New York State liquor tax filings
• monitor production records, tax-paid removals, and bonded inventory
• support audits
• lead COGS and overhead budgeting and rolling forecasts
• review brand profitability
• manage pricing and support vendor contract negotiations.
