Medication Technician

Job overview

The Medication Technician role is onsite in Castro Valley, CA. Pay is $19.50–$20.00 per hour. The position supports medication administration and resident care at Carefield Castro Valley, an assisted living and memory care community. The technician helps ensure medications are handled, administered, and documented safely and in accordance with state licensure rules. The role also monitors medication records and inventory, supports reorders, and helps residents who are approved to self-administer.

What you'll do

• Maintain medication security and accountability
• inventory and reconcile controlled substances with another staff member when responsibility changes
• review medication administration records and books for errors
• complete medication error forms and notify the physician as required
• manage medication reorders, including PRN medication
• verify residents’ self-administration and records weekly
• perform scheduled activities and maintain attendance.
