The Substitute Teacher role is onsite at Family Star’s classrooms in Denver, CO. Pay is $22 per hour. Family Star combines Montessori philosophy with Early Head Start and Head Start programming to support early childhood education. The substitute teacher helps maintain a safe, prepared Montessori learning environment for children ages 0–6, supports children’s individual learning, and works with classroom teammates and families to meet children’s needs.

What you'll do

• Interact respectfully with children and consider their individual learning and development
• include families in the Montessori environment and collaborate with them to meet children’s needs
• maintain a safe, clean, supplied, and orderly classroom
• supervise children at all times
• follow health and safety procedures and CACFP guidelines
• collaborate with classroom teammates and assist in other classrooms as needed
• complete opening or closing responsibilities according to the position schedule.
