Sterile Processing Technician

The Sterile Processing Technician role is onsite at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System in Long Beach, CA. Compensation is $23.85–$31.19 per hour. Ansible Government Solutions is recruiting technicians to support the VA Long Beach Healthcare System; coverage includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays, and assigned schedules may change at the direction of Ansible or its customer. The technician cleans, processes, sterilizes, and stores surgical and clinical instruments and reusable medical equipment. The role supports infection prevention and surgical supply readiness by following aseptic principles, processing procedures, and manufacturer instructions and recording sterilization test results.

What you'll do

• Apply aseptic principles and knowledge of microbiology to prevent infection
• use steam autoclaving, chemical sterilization, and high-level disinfection systems
• interpret and record sterilization test results
• clean, sterilize, assemble, and store surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment
• identify damaged instruments and locate suitable replacements when available
• reprocess flexible endoscopes
• follow manufacturer instructions for reusable medical equipment
• perform the physical demands of the department and wear required PPE.
