The Manufacturing Engineer I, Paint and Thermal Protection System role is onsite in Long Beach, CA. Compensation is $90,000–$136,000 per year. Relativity Space is developing the Terran R reusable rocket and its manufacturing team owns process development, fabrication strategy, and production equipment. The engineer develops and improves paint and thermal protection system processes from design release through installation on the launch vehicle. The role supports efficient, scalable production by integrating designs, sequencing assembly, resolving shop-floor issues, and coordinating with engineering and operations partners.

What you'll do

• Own application of paint and thermal protection system materials from design release through installation
• develop build flow
• drive first builds and improve product lines through design integration, assembly sequencing, manufacturing bill of materials development, work orders, and specifications
• resolve shop-floor issues
• provide feedback to engineering
• monitor large part movements and communicate safety direction
• collaborate with engineering, build reliability, supply chain, and external partners.

Why this role
