Large Loss Estimator

The Large Loss Estimator role is onsite in Grand Rapids, MI. Compensation is $100,000–$120,000 per year, with salary based on experience. The role supports a restoration team handling high-value commercial, industrial, institutional, and complex residential projects after property losses. The estimator develops project scopes and estimates, negotiates with insurance carriers, and manages budgets across the restoration lifecycle. By coordinating with clients, adjusters, consultants, engineers, project managers, and operations teams, the role helps projects proceed safely, efficiently, and within schedule, quality, and profitability expectations.

What you'll do

• Prepare estimates for large restoration projects
• develop scopes using Xactimate and Xactimate Sketch
• inspect fire, water, storm, mold, environmental, and catastrophic damage
• create floor plans, sketches, and documentation
• review scope and negotiate settlements with property owners, adjusters, consultants, engineers, and TPAs
• manage multiple projects, budgets, schedules, and quality expectations
• prepare revised estimates, supplements, and change orders
• review subcontractor proposals and pricing
• transition projects to operations
• identify cost overruns
• ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards
• identify potential environmental hazards
• maintain client and insurance-professional relationships
• assist with emergency response when required
• maintain documentation, vehicle, and equipment
• follow safety procedures.
